Position Summary

Lagardère Sport / EKS is known for its international nature of projects and handpicked team, assembled across the globe. As part of Lagardère Sport / EKS, the newly appointed consultant will provide legal, project management, information / knowledge management and sport event operations / delivery related support to Lagardère Sport / EKS and its clients.

The consultant shall be the key legal contact within Lagardère Sport / EKS and liaise with Lagardère Sport / EKS clientele across the world, especially India, supporting the coordination of ongoing legal cases in India.

He/she will support the creation of a system / tool to manage all contract deliverables and to report progress on these deliverables. A particular focus will be on the development, organisation and operation of tools to be used with our football clients in Asia.

He/she will provide support to Lagardère Sport / EKS’s Information / Knowledge Management systems and tools, helping to organise and manage data, while suggesting new processes and tools to better support Lagardère Sport / EKS’s clients.

He/she will provide project management support across a variety of Lagardère Sport / EKS projects, defining deliverables, completing tasks and ensuring timelines are met.

He/she will provide consulting services to EKS clients, with regard to Games Planning and Delivery, utilising his/her experience and education as well as resources from Lagardère Sport / EKS’s knowledge centre to provide advisory services.

He/she will also provide support in the planning and implementation of the bids and events which Lagardère Sport / EKS shall be handling, especially Commonwealth Games Federation.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and drafting legal documents for Lagardère Sport / EKS to cater to our varied sports clientele;

  • Leading the collaboration and communication with project stakeholders in India for legal matters;

  • Managing knowledge transfer systems for effective event delivery for sports entities across the world;

  • To work as part of the Lagardère Sport / EKS team in review and identification of obligations based on contracts and other documents to identify all obligations ;

  • Managing and creating knowledge systems with Lagardere Asia to develop their football expertise;

  • Planning and implementing the many bid projects that Lagardère Sport / EKS handles, especially on the legal and knowledge management front.

  • Providing project management and advisory services as assigned across Lagardère Sport / EKS projects.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law

  • Qualified to practice law in India

  • Master’s degree in sports management or sports law

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience identifying and codifying requirements and obligations from large sport management contracts.

  • Familiarity of the Football confederations and their media rights activities, understanding of the AFC preferred.

  • Proven experience reviewing and drafting legal documents.

  • Experience managing projects, establishing deliverables and tracking progress.

  • Experience working in a consulting firm, providing advisory services

  • Strong attention to detail and robust observational skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Articulate, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of any Asian or Indian language is an advantage

  • Experience working in a multinational and/or multicultural environment

  • Competent in generating, managing, tracking and reporting on multiple concurrent deliverables in various phases of development

  • Strong team player, able to work well at all levels of an organization

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of an interdependent team

  • Ability to work without significant administrative support

  • High comfort level in utilising technology

  • Must have a high level of proficiency in English. English is the working language at EKS. The job holder will have experience working in a business-legal environment where English is the working language.
