IOC President Jacques Rogge, then, as Chairman of the IOC's Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Co-ordination Commission, initiated the Olympic Games Transfer of Knowledge in 1998. This was to be the beginning of a vision he would drive as part of his programme to streamline the Olympic Games and ensure it endures the changes of this new century. From this initial vision Olympic Games Knowledge Services (OGKS) was created, which up until 2005 was the IOC's exclusive Olympic Games knowledge management company.
EKS benefits from this powerful legacy as it was developed, in agreement with the IOC, and spun off from OGKS. EKS provides a full suite of knowledge transfer and consulting services to major events around the world and continues to develop services for the Olympic Games.
With its origins being in association with the world's largest and most powerful event, EKS seeks to provide know-how to Event Owners and Organisers through partnerships that empower them to excel.
For EKS this now includes more than the Olympic Games as new long-term partnerships are forged with major Event Owners and Organisers across the globe.
Important know-how, information and solutions are scaled to best suit the needs of other major events using modern technologies, focused specialist effort and knowledge management practices. Providing the right information to the right people at the right time empowers EKS event partners to meet the rigorous demands of modern major events satisfying their stakeholders and reducing inefficiency and cost.
